District Governor John Carbaugh

District Governor John joined the Lutz Land O’Lakes Lions Club in March of 2004 and has served as Club president, Vice President, Membership Chair, Fund Raising Chair, tail twister and a member of the board of directors for his club. He has served as Zone 3 Chairperson. District Leo Chairman, Drive Director for Southeast Guide Dogs. Lion John serves on the Board of the Conklin Center in Daytona Beach.

Lion John has received many awards and certificates of appreciation. He is most proud of his Melvin Jones Fellow, and his Helen Keller award. Most recently he was awarded the Presidential Distinguished Leadership pin for 2007-2008 from Past International President Mehandra Amasuria.

He has been Lion of the Year and co-Lion of the year from his club. He has received 5 Certificates of appreciation from 3 different International Presidents. He and his partner in service Ken Anthony were both awarded the first ever Campus Club Extension Awards. With the help of his dedicated membership team, Lion John was able to form 3 new clubs and 2 branch clubs during the 2007-2008 Lionistic year.

District Governor John is the Vice -Chairman of the Host Committee for the USA/CANADA LEADERSHIP FORUM to be held in Tampa in 2012.

Lion John came from a very large family of 7 girls and 2 boys from Erie, Pa and moved to Florida in 1993. He has been involved in all aspects of the Food and Beverage and Event Planning field for over 35 years
